I’m Sasha, a self-taught, elopement and wedding photographer in Texas with a love for dirt roads and mountain air and a flair for style. With my specialties lying in weddings and elopements, I work with my clients to adapt my aesthetic to their unique personalities and situations and capture moments that they feel seen in.
There’s something different about Silverton engagement photos. And it’s not just the views (though they’ll leave you speechless). It’s the feeling—like the world slows down, and it’s just the two of you tucked into the San Juans with a camera nearby. These are the kinds of sessions where your hair gets windblown, your cheeks hurt from laughing, and the photos feel like moments from your favorite movie.
If you’re dreaming of engagement photos in Silverton that look moody, cinematic, and completely you—without the awkward poses or Pinterest-perfect pressure—you’re going to want to keep reading.
(PS: Curious how I photograph engagement sessions all across Colorado? Here’s exactly how my process works.)
You’ve probably seen all the usual spots: Telluride, Maroon Bells, Rocky Mountain National Park. But Silverton? It’s the underrated, cinematic gem you didn’t know you needed.
Right off the Million Dollar Highway sits Molas Lake, a quiet, glacial-blue dream surrounded by insane peaks, alpine trees, and sky so wide it feels unreal. It’s the kind of place that changes colors with the clouds and gives you a backdrop that doesn’t need editing. Late summer brings wildflowers and warm light, but even moody, cloudy days turn out truly stunning.
I love shooting here because no two sessions look the same (and y’all know that is my jam anyways)—it always mirrors the couple I’m working with.
(Want more favorite spots in the San Juans? Here are 4 of my must-shoot locations.)
Maybe you’re at the edge of the Molas lake, the wind is picking up just enough to mess with your hair—in a good way. You glance over, and they’re already grinning like they know exactly what you’re thinking.
Then comes the short hike (promise it’s worth it). One minute you’re in the trees, and the next you’re standing on a ridgeline that feels like the whole world cracked open just for you two.
No big poses. No awkward “hold that” moments. Just the two of you—running, laughing, wrapped in a blanket while the sun disappears behind the peaks. It’s cold. It’s cozy. But it’s you.
That’s what I’m after.
Not perfect. Not staged. Just real moments, good light, and photos that make you feel something when you look back at them.
P.S. If you’re into this kind of mood—check out this Ouray couples session for even more mountain goodness.

I’ve always been drawn to the kind of photography that feels like a scene from your favorite movie. Not overly polished, not forced—just real connection, beautiful light, and a little cinematic flair.

I photograph weddings all over the state—but the San Juans will always have a piece of my heart. Silverton, Ouray, Telluride… they’re perfect for couples who want something real in the mountains. If you’re still figuring out your wedding location, here’s a list of top venues in Ouray to get you started.
Whether you’re just visiting or planning your dream mountain wedding, I’d love to help you capture a session that feels true to you. No pressure, no pretending—just real love and a camera (and me!) that gets it.
